The process involves backcombing and crocheting to form tiny knots that eventually form a unified dreadlock. Instant locs are long-lasting, don’t cause damage if done correctly, and give a neat look. However, they can be painful and are not recommended for very fine hair. After the first install, the hair will be fully locked and a bit stiff. This is expected because the hair is permanently locked into many tiny knots. Over time, the hair will relax.
